FAQ's
How does healing work?
Healing is a natural energy therapy. It works on every level, not just the 'physical' but the 'whole' person – mind, body and spirit. Healers are a conduit for Healing energy, the benefits of which can be felt on many levels, including the physical. Healing therapies re-energise, re-balance and relax the recipient enabling their own natural resources to deal with stress, illness or injury.
Can healing do any harm?
No – There are rare occasions when the client may 'feel worse' before improving, but this is often a significant part of the healing process, signalling a release of stress which may have gone unrecognised. Healing can safely be given to everyone, including children, infants and the elderly.
Is it necessary to have “faith”?
No – This is a question often asked about healing therapies. The healing offered at the Norwich Energy Healing is not associated with any religion, -ism or -ology. It is not necessary to have faith other than a trust in the healer and an openness to the process and the resulting effects of the treatment.
Can healing be given to animals?
Yes, animals can be treated and they can benefit from healing therapies. However, it is necessary for any sick animal to have been seen by a veterinary surgeon before healing can be given.
Shouldn’t 'healing' be given freely?
Like other practising complementary therapists, certified and registered practitioners of ‘Healing’ therapies have undertaken approved training, have membership of regulatory and professional organisations and hold professional indemnity insurance. There is a substantial cost involved in attaining this level of training, knowledge, commitment and responsibility. Once qualified, many healers give their time to helping others as their profession, with continued on-going training and advancement of their professional and personal development to enhance and compliment the therapies they offer. Many healers however also offer a portion of their time on a voluntary basis.
Do I still need to see my doctor if I am using complementary therapies?
Yes. Complementary therapies are not an alternative to conventional medicine, they are complementary to it. You should therefore always consult your GP about any acute or infectious conditions, problems of an urgent nature or health issues that cause you concern.
Questions sent by email to Norwich Energy Healing:
How does a drop-in work & can you tell me what the arrangements are?
As you enter the Quaker Centre there are signposts which will direct you up the stairs to the Gallery space where we hold the healing sessions. It is very informal, there is a waiting area at one end of the room and an area where we have healing couches and chairs. Normally we have a receptionist who will greet you and ask if you require a chair or couch healing and if you have a preference for a male or female healer. We ask for all mobiles to be switched off and for everyone to speak quietly.
Is an appointment required?
No appointment is necessary. You can drop-in between 1pm and 3.30pm although our latest start time for the last healing session is usually around 3pm.
Is there a fee?
There is no fee – however we do ask for a donation towards our running costs. You can give as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. The majority of our visitors give £5 but please give what ever you can afford.
Do we have time to discuss anything?
There is usually a very quiet, meditative atmosphere in the room. However if you wish to talk with anyone before or after the healing there is time and space to do so.
Can we choose who our healer is, male / female etc?
We usually have both male and female healers in attendance so if you have a preference please let us know.
Are we healed publicly or privately and how long does it take?
We have screens around our couches and therefore there is relative privacy. Chair healing has a little less privacy. Each sessions lasts between 20 to 30 minutes but this is not fixed. We have an alternative, more private chair healing space if required.
I use a wheelchair, will I still be able to gain access and receive healing at your Centre?
Yes, the building is accessible for a wheelchair user and we can arrange a healing session for you on the ground floor. Please email us beforehand to arrange a time that's easiest for you.
What type of healing is this, is it the same as Reiki?
We offer Spiritual Healing at the Centre. This is similar to Reiki although we work 'off the body' within the energy field and only occasionally with light touch (with permission). Reiki tends to be a more 'hands-on' therapy. The term Spiritual does not relate to a religious process or belief, more to an attitude to the way in which we live life.
Do I need to discuss why I have come to for Healing?
No - there is no need to discuss why you have come unless you wish to do so,
